Class Photo II D, 1966 Mrs. Smith
Class Photo II D, 1966 Mrs. Smith, same pic as above, run through an “AI” photo colorizer for a laugh.
Of course it got the tie and belt colours wrong, some legs are ghoulishly gray (Raju got the worst deal) and our glorious Indian-Brown skintones were whitewashed LOL.

Old Issues of The Columban
Click on the cover or link to download the PDF of the complete issue, or right-click / SAVE-AS to save to your hard drive. These are high resolution scans.
Even though the content apart from the cover is black & white, I have scanned the issues in color so the “feel” of the original is retained as far as possible.
1968 Columban (300dpi, 35MB)
1970 Columban (300dpi, 31MB)
1971 Columban (300dpi, 47MB)
1972 Columban (300dpi, 39MB)
1973 Columban (150 dpi, 18MB)
Yes, 1973 is the issue where you’ll see Shahrukh Khan in his class photo in I-C, named “S. Rukh” 3rd row.
1974 Columban (300 dpi, 26MB)
1991 Columban – Hardcover Golden Jubilee Issue with lots of background info (300 dpi 63MB)
If you can’t quite remember how your school diary looked like, here’s 12 pages of mine, warts and all, from 1966, II-D class of Mrs. Smith. So were you “The Type of Boy Your Parents and Teachers Want You To Be”? Also check out the rules and regulations, fee structure, list of school books, prayer, and monthly report. LOL. (PDF @ 300 dpi, 7MB, click on the picture above to view). Can’t help thinking this looks like some ancient Pharaonic relic but I swear I’m not quite that old, haha.
While I was oblivious at the time that one of these ladies was causing some hearts to flutter (lol), I find this photo in the 1973 Columban cool because it looks so different from the usual crop of stiff n’ posed images. Click on the image for a larger version.
“Job-Offer” for a Columban contributor I saw hanging in the senior building in 2006 :-). Click image to view.
Update October 2013: An alumni posted a bunch of old Columbans on a website called ColumbanWorld :), check it out here. 33 issues to be exact, which is nice. You will have to register with details like your mobile number (but they are not verified) before you get to the goodies but what the heck. There’s a watermark on each page and issues are only downloadable as individual image files (one image per page), not as a complete PDF.
all the ladies probably made hearts to flutter then

Hi,
Spent my last three years in St. Columba’s before setting sail for the UK in 1952. Born and bred in Delhi (1939) went to BCS in Shimla till partition, then a year in Nainital before ending my time in Delhi. Very vague memories of school time but think one teacher was a Miss Castor (strict as they come) and later a German teacher who taught French. My father had left the Punjab Police during the partition and during these few years lived with relations in Scindia House on Janpath (formally Queensway) My Uncle managed a jewellers shop which is still there and with the same name. I was lucky enough to take one of my sons in 2009 to visit his Dad’s birthplace and to be able to find the graves of my grandparents in the Lodi cemetery.
Delhi was in chaos as they were building the Metro in readiness for the Commonwealth Games, but a quick visit after 50 years (last visit 1959 to visit parents who were still living there but working for the British High Commission) was an eye opener.
I would love another visit but can only dream these days.
Good luck and blessings to all present and past boys and girls.
Hi Mr McDowell,
If this reaches you, and I hope it does, you may remember my father Ashok Mubayi (born 1939) Sr Cam 1955, who should have been your batch. My email address is adittya@quizcraftglobal.com and I would greatly value your response. Many thanks
Wow that’s impressive nostalgia post 40 years
Studied in St Columbas from baby class (1956) to 1964 – standard 8. Miss Caston was my teacher too. The universally liked teacher was Mrs Fernandez. Also taught by Mrs Joseph, Mrs Ballantyne, Ms Lambert, Mr Sah and Mr Veigers. The PT masters were Mr Hukil, Mr Lockwood. May have got some names wrong or misspelt. Nice to keep in touch with ex Columbans
Thanx for sharing
I went to St Columba’s from 1976 (KG) to 1989 (12th). Columbas has been the core foundation to all us and has prepared us so well to handle the world. The batchmates remain amongst the closest friends one has had even after 30 years of leaving school.
We have a very vibrant Old Columbans Association of Canada 🇨🇦, headquartered in Toronto. Please feel welcome to join us.
